Our Work with Local Charities
In many ways, Myrddin supports its local community: the county of
Carmarthenshire. The very name of the company is the Welsh name for
Carmarthenshire's greatest figure, the man who the county is named after,
"Myrddin" (Merlin, in English). We actively support local business in our
trading, sourcing our materials from within the county and using the services
(printing, etc.) of only local business where possible.
This attitude continues through our support of those less fortunate than
ourselves. We support Carmarthenshire charities by donating a percentage of our
profit to local charity.
Every client we have has helped us to do this and this will always remain true.
Our chosen charity for 2008 is:
Crossroads Sir Gar.
Crossroads Sir Gar was formed in July 2007. It is a specialist Carers
organisation providing support to Carers in their own homes, giving Carers "time
to be themselves". Crossroads believes that Carers should have the same chances
that other people enjoy - good health, the right to a family life and
opportunities to work and pursue their own interests.
A Carer is someone who looks after a relative or a child, partner or a friend
who needs their help because they are ill, frail or have a disability. The care
they provide is unpaid. Commitment to quality and training is central to
Crossroads' philosophy to ensure Carers have peace of mind while away from home.
The staff can undertake the delivery of care in many complex situations.
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can Gift Aid a donation of a single payment or set
up a regular standing order to allow the scheme to claim tax allowance, thereby
increasing the donation by 28p for each pound donated. Standing orders can be
set up from as little as £5.00 per month.
